HOW WE WORK

Alias editorial standards.

A public record of how we choose topics, test practical guidance, use sources, disclose our relationship to the app and correct mistakes.

PURPOSE

Useful guidance for a real room.

We publish guides for people choosing, explaining or facilitating a word game. Each page is scoped around a concrete reader task—such as running a first round, adapting a classroom activity or selecting a game for a large group. We combine closely related questions when one complete answer serves them better than several repetitive pages.

Our goal is not to manufacture search pages. A guide should leave the reader with a setup they can use, boundaries they can explain and alternatives when the suggested format does not fit.

REVIEW PROCESS

Clear instructions, safe boundaries and technical checks.

Editors review each guide for a direct answer, internally consistent rules, usable examples, inclusive participation choices and claims that match the evidence available. Automated checks verify page structure, canonical URLs, metadata, structured data, image references, internal links, article completeness and minimum editorial depth.

Automated validation does not replace judgement. Recommendations involving a classroom or workplace receive an additional boundary check so a game score is not presented as assessment, diagnosis or employee-performance evidence.

EVIDENCE

Primary rules first; credible sources for broader claims.

Alias-specific instructions are based on the published app flow and game rules. Original examples and diagrams are created for the relevant page. When a guide makes broader education or workplace recommendations, we prefer current first-party guidance, public evidence reviews and established professional frameworks, and we list the supporting sources on that page.

Practical formats—team size, timer length or an agenda—are labelled as editorial suggestions unless a source supports a more specific claim. We do not invent survey results, rankings, ratings, review scores, download counts or popularity claims.

COMMERCIAL RELATIONSHIP

The publisher also makes Alias.

The Alias editorial team publishes this site for Epic Star LLC, the company behind the Alias app. App Store and Google Play buttons are first-party calls to download Alias. That relationship is relevant whenever we recommend the app, so we state it here and avoid presenting first-party promotion as independent product ranking.

Our non-branded guides may include Alias when its format genuinely fits the reader’s situation. They also describe other game formats when those are a better fit. We do not sell placement inside rankings and we do not publish fabricated comparisons.

UPDATES & CORRECTIONS

Dates should mean something.

Articles show a publication date. An updated date appears only after a material content change, not for routine builds or cosmetic edits. We review links, rules and high-impact guidance when the underlying product or cited source changes.

If you find a factual error, broken source or unclear safety boundary, contact Epic Star LLC through the support channel linked in the app. We will investigate, correct confirmed issues and update the page date when the correction changes the reader’s understanding.
